After months and months of posturing by lawmakers—preceded of course by months and months of posturing by presidential candidates—it took all of a week for the immigration reform bill to make it through the bipartisan Senate Judiciary Committee. There is, of course, still a long ways to go, but the early quick movement for the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act can only be seen as encouraging.
