When economic growth and job creation come before everything else, being an environmental regulator probably isn’t the most fun job in the world—and EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson likely found out the hard way. It was announced late last month that she’d be stepping down from her role after four years on the job and, though it was likely due to general frustration, some have wondered if controversy surrounding the agency’s use of email aliases had something to do with it.
