As a whole, student-athletes normally graduate at a rate either on-par or at times slightly above their non-athlete peers. But that doesn’t tell the whole story, as the graduation rates of athletes in football, basketball and baseball are covered up by the rates of athletes in other sports. That’s one issue California’s Student-Athletes Bill of Rights—recently enacted by Governor Jerry Brown—aims to address.
