Over the past few weeks, I have seen a number of instances where employers have gone so far to threaten employees that—if they don’t vote the right way—their job may not be safe. It turns out that this and other influencing of employees regarding their voting is perfectly fine under federal law. Also, while it’s dealt with in a number of state mandates, there’s no federal law forcing employers to allow their employees to vote.
